So yesterday was my first day of classes. It actually wasn't so bad. Except text books still cost wayyy more than they're worth (that probably sounds awful, as education is priceless). I can already tell that my humanities teacher lectures everything from the book so having it is really for the people too lazy to take notes. $120 down the drain ( Read more... )

Just because education is priceless doesn't mean textbooks can't cost $600 a semester.

Or, we can just use the transitive property, and conclude that education just costs $600 a semester. Right, plus tuition. And, like, gas to drive to school.

...Okay, I'm thinking that "priceless" as it applies to education may be the same "priceless" that applies to, say, large diamonds. It doesn't actually mean "without price", it just means "really wicked expensive and more than you personally will ever possibly be able to cough up without selling at least, like, one of the more desirable organs".

There. That sounds right.
