Read a little into the story and it turns out that not only did he forget to drop the baby of at day care that morning after which left the baby in the car for SEVEN hours while he worked, it says that he went to the car in the on his lunch break to put something away ... How could he not SEE that poor child!
That bit of news has been on my mind for a couple of weeks now, thanks for mentioning that it shocked you as well.
