So I just realized that Cliff and I were kinda banking on flying in to LAX instead of the San Diego airport to save around $100, but I keep forgetting that we then would have to find a way to San Diego from LA

Worst case scenario, Amtrak or Greyhound between the two big cities if you can't catch a ride and don't want to rent a car or buy a flight from LAX to SAN. I can give you a lift from most anywhere in SD to your convention hotel if needed with fair warning.
Edit: I know this is not the most desirable option, I'm just throwing it out there as a last resort since I live fairly close to the convention center. I'd offer to drive you the full way (since I'd like to hit the fashion district in LA for fabric shopping anyways), but there's no way I could take the time off work those days to to SD to LA and back again.
Complicated jargon: find the shuttle from the airport to the metro green line. Take metro green line to metro blue, blue to red, red to Union Station. At Union switch to surfliner amtrak and take it down into San Diego to the end of the line at just a couple of blocks from the san diego convention center. That keeps you at one shuttle and 4 trains, probably ~$30 for train fare per person ($5 day pass for the metro, good for all trains, then the amtrak) http://www.metrolinktrains.com
But stay in touch with me: I'm not sure on my plans for comic-con and who I am going down with, but I may be able to pick you two up on my way.
Hey you!! I'm worried about you getting your wig in time! @_@ Remember how I charged you for styling, then remembered that I hadn't asked for enough to cover shipping (because I only charged like, $10 a wig), so that's why I need the $$$. Plus, I can't afford it as I'm jobless and out of cash. ;_;
Katie, if you take the down to SD via Greyhound/Amtrack/magic carpet, I could possibly be able to run shuttle for that, if I could remember when that is.
