What really puts a bee in my bonnet is the average, everyday conservatives. Frankly, I think that "issues" such as abortion, gay marraige, and the like are just about the most minor things that are covered by politics. What about fucking POVERTY? Did you know that the conservative viewpoint of social welfare services (government services to help the poor, the disabled, and basically anyone else who needs it) is ... that they are unnecessary? CONSERVATIVE THEORY states that by helping the *rich*, we help everybody. Conservative theory has a lot of weight vested in Noblesse Oblige, the theory that the rich will help the poor out of their (literally) Noble hearts. Take a long, prying look at history. When was this ever true? It hasn't ever worked and it won't ever work ( ... )
