Mood Theme: Instructions

Apr 07, 2008 16:24

I just thought, I could write a little thing for everything who doesn't know what to do exactly with a mood theme after downloading one. So, I hope this will help out.

Instructions

1. Download your chosen moodtheme and unzip it. Then upload the images to a site like Photobucket. It's important to leave the image names as they are.

2. Go to the Admin Read more... )

type: mood theme

The mood theme doesn't appear in the drop-down list when I check. When I executed the command (after copy+pasting the admin code, having changed the URLs already), it tells me under each URL of the moods listed "You do not own this mood theme." over and over

Hm...

I'm just guessing here. did you change the numbers in the admin codes?
This line and what's bold:

That's weird, it always used to work for me with just the one command. Maybe they changed something.

Anyway, there's only a little extra you need to add and everything should work:

moodtheme_create "Title of Theme" "Description of Theme"

You don't need to add a lot stuff for the description. Even just one word is enough.

Hope this helps. :)

You're so sweet when you helped me and still I have ask you these stupid questions. One problem solved and now I have this second. It's claim that I don't own that mood. Here's my first mood:

528351 90 http://wwww.photobucket.com/flirty.png 90 50

I changed the code and the place but it's still don't like me. Any advice?

Hm, I'm not sure what this could be now. I'll go from what you showed me in your line.

The link to mood on photobucket needs to have your account name in there somewhere. For example, mine would be http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/katiesangels/flirty.png . Also, you've got four w in there, delete one.

But, I don't think this causes the whole thing that you don't own that mood. So, I'd just check the whole thing again. It needs the whole line, like this

moodtheme_setpic 187522 90 http://www.yourserverhere.com/accomplished.png 90 50

If it's still not working, the only thing I can think of is trying again from the start.

No problem. I'm glad you got it working now. It's bad if things don't go they way you should and it'S hard to find out where the problem is. :)

Hey, I downloaded your Oscar Wilde quotes (Thanks!) and executed all those command things and followed all of your instructions to a T, but instead of a mood set, I seem to have a bunch of 110x60 boxes with questions marks in them. Did I do something wrong, or is LJ just being assy?

Question marks? Oh dear. That's something I've never seen before.

Where did you upload them to? Maybe it's a problem on that end.

I don't know. I figured out from trying to make a mood set of my own that the sizes need to be imputed, so I'm going to try that under edit and see if it fixes the problem. Will let you know if that fixes it.

I hope you can figure it out. :/

Maybe just try it all over again, as a last resort.
