Obviously those people should reject the BMW and donate the money to charity. I mean, if I were her I would totally do that, right?

It's easy to act hypothetically generous with things you don't have. I totally agree with you, making fun of or even insulting people about things they have little to no control over (their name, or their financial situation, or some physical characteristics) is just poor form. Now mocking people for how they act, that's totally legit!

See you bright and early at 10am tomorrow, Katie!

I agree. Financial circumstances are no ones business but their own. There is a difference between a kid getting things because their parents want to give them and know the kids would enjoy it and wants it versus a kid who whines and nags and is a brat until they get what they want. (My Super Sweet Sixteen anyone?) Besides, most kids who come from well off families had to give up a lot of things that kids from less well off families didn't. You can't judge people by things they can't control.

And as for talking about the super-loaded kid, how's this: The guy whose family is worth literally billions, and has a $6,000 a month salary, is on a full need-based scholarship here. How? His family's taxes show a 5 million dollar deficit every year becuase of the way they invested in the land and how the laws apply to it. It is hard to imagine that a kid who makes a decent living by his allowance alone is on full scholarship.
