Mark your calendars, guys and gals, because the event of next year will be held on April 22, 2006. That's right, Scott and I FINALLY set a wedding date!! Yay! Since neither of us belong to a church in Kingsport, we are planning on having both the ceremony and reception at the Allandale Mansion. It is GORGEOUS!!! If you care to check it out,

Congrats on setting a date!!! We just kinda grabbed a calendar and picked out a Saturday. Don't worry about the money- it all works itself out in the end. We were seriously worried about that too but you can cut corners like you wouldn't believe and be able to manage.

Yeah, that's kind of how we picked our date too. We just picked the closest Saturday that was one year from when we got engaged. It turns out that's April 15 (TAX DAY!), 2006, and since we didn't want to do it on that day, we just picked the following Saturday.

I love www.theknot.com! Talk about some useful info!!! I haven't looked at www.theweddingchannel.com yet, but I will check it out today. I am not a big fan of Martha Stewart, but her magazine Weddings is awesome and that website has TONS of good ideas too! Plus, it shows you how to make different things and cut down on costs....which we DESPERATELY need to do!!!

I think your request about the money seems pretty reasonable! I'm sure they will understand that your family's sitation. And if they don't...well...that's dumb. :)

Hooray for adopting a doggie, too! I'm sure Shiner will be super excited to have a playmate. Don't be suprised if it takes him a couple of days to come around, though. Sugar and Shiner. So cute. I'm so jealous. I wish I could get a bro/sis for Wilson. Sigh.

Isn't Allandale just gorgeous? I found out today though that it only seats 72 for an inside ceremony. So, that means we either have to start chopping the guest list (which I don't really want to do), OR we have to have it outside. We'll see...Scott's out of town and I haven't had a chance to run all this by him.

I hope to God that his parents help us out. I swear, I will hold a grudge against his father FOREVER if he doesn't help us out. Grrrr. The whole idea of him possible saying no just makes me irate. I can't get mad yet, because we haven't actually asked him. Who knows, he might surprise us.
