my mom used to teach high school english and is now a college librarian, so banned book week has always been celebrated in our household (i don't know if "celebrated" is really the word i'm looking for ( ... )

Hey, so I took the "write notes to the landlord, and tell him that because he's illegally kept my money from me I'm reporting him to the city" approach and he dropped off the check last night. Go me...:) Thanks for your help again!

We have Banned Book Month at Barnes & Noble too. It's funny how much hysteria the promotion causes. Customers think that the books are being banned and we're trying to clear them out or something. On the other hand, we have customers coming in with petitions to have books banned. The only one that I would want to see banned from teen literature is "Doing It" by Melvin Burgess. It's just filthy, and pretty much an erotica novel, and really has no place with teens. Anyway, I've read ( ... )
