I failed my drivers test for my Japanese drivers license last friday, which left me in tears. This is actually quite charachteristic of this sort of situation. I hate stress from official things of this nature. The part that actually caused me to walk quickly out of the building crying was the fact that the license I had a translation of expired ( Read more... )

I've heard from a lot of people who've failed their drivers' tests here. According to rumor they just like to fail foreigners.

I'll be climbing Fuji around August 10th or so, which is perfect timing to either learn from your experience or to find and bury your body, depending on how it goes.

I know from many people that foreigners often have a very difficult time with passing this test easily. So it goes.

And give that mountain heck for me! Heck, I say!

*hugs*

I'll be taking a driver's test too, on my side of the pond. I'm so sorry!

I've been away from the my blog for awhile so I only just found this post.

-Sorry to hear about the test, I thought you were a good driver... But perhaps that is like an illiterate person complimenting you on your reading ability.

-I hope what sounded like a great birthday made up for it

-Good luck with Fuji! I suppose everyone is giving you advice but since you're doing it late in the season, do not underestimate that value of warm clothes, impermeables and lots of cash. The last one was a mistake of mine, if you need to crash out on the way up there are places to do so, but you need money to do it.

That is all for now.

The driving test is not so much a measure of how well you drive but rather how well you can follow directions. I`m pretty sure I will pass the next time but it was a nerve racking experience. The great birthday did indeed make up for it.

Thanks for the wishes of luck with Fuji; I think I may need it. I will certainly be bringing warm clothes, gloves and cash for the way up. I have heard tales of not being able to stay places. I am excited about the climb but some what nervous. I`m looking forward to accomnplishing it.
