What's everyone doing for the x-mas / New Year's time?
Matthew and I are taking a road trip to Nagasaki (Dec. 22 - Dec. 25) and hitting up Hiroshima (Dec. 25 -28) on the way back. New Year's will probably find us at his place because there is more to day in Fukui City than in Shokawa.
Alas, no turkey bird for me. -

Well with a name like that....
Some of you may remember my mentioning my father bringing home a DVD copy of W.D. Griffith's Birth of a Nation the summer before I moved to Japan. Well, I have discovered this website, where public domain archives, films and books are available for download. I picked up Kurosawa's Ikiru and Birth of a Nation was last night's acquisition.

In case anyone was wondering I am indeed alive albeit silent on the live journal front. After a number of conversations and careful consideration, Matthew and I are returning to the States at the end of this contract year. The time frame would be late July.
