I enjoyed your reflections, coming back to school after some time myself. I think of all the books I've read, that I could reread and possibly see with new depth. I got a chukle out of you seeing hubris in your ex, and it made me think that if we looked at our lives (or a small part of, or experience) as a greek tragedy, and questioned where those words would fit in we'd all get quite a laugh - and really understand the definition of the words.
"This course has made me want to drag out and dust off many of the books I’ve read since deciding that an education wasn’t necessary to for employment with any real financial stability" Woooooo!!!! You are really a good writer. You added me as friend and today I started to read your blog. You are really a good writer. I enjoyed your effort and work. Thank you for adding me as your friend. good luck!!!
I really like your writing style! I enjoyed reading your post. I laughed as I pictured the scene you described. "I can only imagine the very strong cathartic effect that would have been experienced by Greeks in the 400’s BC, watching Oedipus, such a strong, brave and wise heroic figure going through such agony as he realized his unwitting errors." I can imagine too that this would have been a powerful experience.
