Adventures in Kate- and Sara-land

laprincesasara had the night off, so she and I were sitting in my bedroom, watching Supernatural, when she says to me, "Do you want tea?" And I said of course! So Sara trots off to our kitchen, turns on the burner, and wanders back. A few minutes later, there's this hissing, crackling sound, and this smell of burning. I look at Sara and say, "What's that?"

Hey Kate! Me and my roomie caught our oven on fire in college. We had to call the fire dept though because it was...well, it was a significant fire. What actually happened was the roomie and her boyfriend were heating up taco shells in the oven. They caught fire and that caught the oven on fire. The old roomie can be a little clueless so she dumps flour on the fire which of course, totally makes the flames higher. I called the fire department and then dumped our meager box of baking soda on the giant flame. The fire department came and took care of the rest. My roommate got sick the next day so, yours truly had to spend her day cleaning the oven. Everyone got us fire extinguishers for Christmas.
