gas prices

okay, what is up with gas prices lately?! i mean all the gas stations are selling it for $2.56-$2.57 a gallon. last i checked though, sam's club was at $2.41. anyways, i was at one gas station getting a soda, when i asked the cashier why the E85 was so expensive. i mean it is 85% ethanol. she told me it was just ten cents more. uhm, okay.

Ours is 2.32 :P

but we always have the cheapest gas in the country. yea for the poor south!!

i need to refuel down there the next time i go down there.

i just wandered why the price fluxuations between different stations for the E85.

Gas stations attached to stores like Kroger and Walmart and Sams Club are able to sell gas a lot lower than the rest of the world because their primary income is through their retail stores. Their gas stations are just to lure people in with the promise of doing everything in one stop, or get them to spend a little more money. Thus you can use your sams/kroger plus card there as well.

Most gas station owners are pretty pissed about them doing it.

actually, the regular gas is all the same price no matter where you go, it was the E85 i was wondering about.

when i first heard of E85 on the farm report [yeah this is what happens when you fall asleep with the tv on and wake in the early morning.] i remember the prices of E85 were so low [compared to the $3.00++ a gallon for regular gas.

i am all for E85 and bio-diesel. i guess it is just a cost justification. i know there is no profit for the gas stations, but see no reason the gas and oil producers can make profits in the Billions. especailly when there is a shortage, or an accident, that reduces the supply.

I paid $2.45 in Oklahoma, the state with a working oil drill on their capitol grounds.
