Dang it!

Last time I posted I was having a truckload of trouble with my game, things were incredibly borked and the game barely playable because of said borkage. Welp, I've still got the borkage. I've tried what everyone else has said would work (uninstalling a certain windows update & checking downloads for dodginess, etc) and no go. I can play the game, ( Read more... )

What was the boredness exactly? I'm guessing you pulled cc to check that. Could be you have hood or game corruption. :/

Well, it seems mainly to be hairs and clothes that are visually borked. It doesn't matter whether I'm in the actual game or CAS (I haven't tried Bodyshop, but considering everything, I don't think it would be in good shape either).
Yeah, that's one of the first things I did. It shouldn't be hood corruption as it's like that in EVERY hood, whether they are new or old.

If you describe the borkedness in more detail, I might have some ideas. It's such a broad topic, though, that I'm not sure where to start without that.

I's mainly hairs and clothes that are visually borked, though I did have one instance when some furniture was borked as well. Some of the clothing options in CAS appear as either skin instead of what they're meant to be or as some generic outfit which they are not.

Not sure about the hair, but I've had that problem with clothing before. It usually means that I'm missing a mesh or a texture file for that outfit. Hopefully, the creator added a tooltip (text that shows up when you hover the mouse over the picture) that will tell you what the outfit is/ Then you can go back to where you got it and make sure that you have all the right files, and also that they are all in the right folders together. You could do a 50/50 to figure out which outfit is causing the problem if the creator didn't add a tooltip ( ... )

The clothing that's appearing as skin or generic outfits-that-they-aren't are actually outfits that come with the game, not CC. This is what's got me worried. Though with the hairs it's both the hairs which come with the game and the CC I've got installed (mainly CC though).

^ What they said. Was it visually borked, or was it gameplay?

Here's what I said to Esme: It's mainly hairs and clothes that are visually borked, though I did have one instance when some furniture was borked as well. Some of the clothing options in CAS appear as either skin instead of what they're meant to be or as some generic outfit which they are not.

Okay, it sounds like you have broken code somewhere: meshes or textures are not being referenced when they should be. Do all of these items come from the same expansion pack, or are they scattered throughout different expansions? If it's just from one expansion pack, you can uninstall it and reinstall it specifically, most likely it was overwritten by another stuff pack. If it's from a lot of expansion packs, or if you have borked interactions, I would recommend copying the neighborhoods (and of course all the CC) you wish to keep to your desktop or a disk, and doing a complete uninstall/re-install.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game yesterday. Today I'll start up the game and see how it runs. *crosses fingers that it works properly*
