Some people are passing around this story about a Marine who gets mugged & posts a letter on Craig's List. As usual, I checked snopes first...

Don't know if you get This Is True (paid and free editions from thisistrue.com), but it is all straight from legit newspapers. This week's free edition led with a similar story -- In a convenience store, the robber had a gun in the clerk's face and was screaming "Yo! Put ALL the register money in the bag!" that sort of thing.

The clerk was grinning and ready to laugh (!), and did as he was told.

Just as the robber got the bag of money, the police officer standing behind him grabbed him by the shoulder and arrested him. And at this point, all the other customers in the store started laughing, too. (It gets better, like the robber -knew- there was a cop nearby, other reasons, too.)
