-Getting into IRC with mIRC - Step by Step-

• Go here:: http://www.mirc.com/


• Download the mIRC client ( you will be redirected to download.com, this is normal )


• Install mIRC to your preferences


• Run mIRC ( select Continue )


• You will be asked to fill out some information...

# Nickname: The name ( Human or Nation ) that will be displayed in the chat.
# Alternative: The name that will be displayed in the chat should your first choice be in use.
# Name: The name that will be displayed when people /whois you- You should put your nation's human name.
# Email: Email address- Optional.

+ From the list on the left of the window navigate to "Server".
+ Select "Add Server".

# Description: Whatever you want
# IRC Server: irc.deltaanime.net
# Leave the rest as is and hit "Add"
# After that, Select the server

+ Edit the rest of your settings as you please

+ My personal preferences are usually as follows::

IRC

Unselect "Minimize Query Window\"
Select "Whois on query"
Select "Rejoin channel when kicked"

IRC -> Options

Flash on message: Select All
Select "Other: Skip MOTD on connect" ( BUT BE SURE TO READ THROUGH IT AT LEAST ONCE )
Select "Other: Cancel Away on Activity"

Messages

Select "Timestamp events"
"Quit message" Customized for my leaving~

Everything else I leave as is.


+ Go back to up Connect and hit "Connect"
+ After connecting, a window will pop up asking you to enter a channel name

Input the channel and key that has been PMed to you
I like to unselect "Pop up favorites on connect"
Click "Join" next to where you typed the channel/key in.

-Getting into IRC with Trillian - Step by Step-

This guide assumes you already have Trillian.


+ Go to Manage my Connection Preferences
+ If your plugin is NOT selected, go to the "Plugins" bar on the side and select IRC.

Go back to "Identities and Connections"

+ Select "Add a new connection" -> "IRC"

Server Alias: What the server will show up as on your Trillian window
irc.trillian.com::6667: Input "irc.deltaanime.net"
Nickname: The name that will be displayed in the chat.
Username: The name that will be displayed when a lookup is done on you.
User Info: The name that will be displayed with people /whois you- You should put your nation's human name.

+ Close the preferences window.
+ On your main Trillian screen select your IRC connection and select "Connection Preferences"
+ Under Connection -> Perform Buffer, check the box and input /join #HetaRP {key}
+ Select the "Miscellaneous" tab and edit your preferences as you please

+ My personal preferences are usually as follows::

General

Select "Always show status window on connection creation"

Options

Select "Rejoin channel when kicked"
Select "Rejoin channels on connect"
Select "Show user hostmasks on events"
Select "Skip MOTD on connect" ( BUT BE SURE TO READ THROUGH IT AT LEAST ONCE )

+ On your main Trillian screen select your IRC connection and select Reconnect.

+ Go here http://02.chat.mibbit.com/
+ Click "server" and input "irc.deltaanime.net"
+ Nick: The name that will be displayed in the chat.
+ Next to channel put the channel and key given to you in the PM and click "Go"
