Dear Lord, I thought my walk was bad when I lived on South Street, had English first thing at Olin, then had to be at a studio glass at Gallucci across Exchange st. with my portfolio and all, and then worked at McDowell (where I couldn't bring my portfolio because there was no place to store it where no one would trip over it.) A year later I broke my foot and had to hobble across much the same route. I was resentful because when my uncles went to AU they didn't have to cross Exchange to get to the art buildings. To Polsky's and back? OMG!
Dude, I swear to God. (And you gotta tell me the name I should know you by, oh fellow alum!)
And to think that when I was a freshman, I cursed my 7AM newswriting class in Guzzetta, and then my 8AM Comp 112 in Olin. A walk in the park--even though there was still traffic on Buchtel Ave. then. (And, of course, the art building was right on Buchtel, right about where the Chakra Rock is now.) Those were the days!
I am praying my Public Relations Publications class are patient souls, and that we can score lots of extra lab time, because I think they are the ones who are going to end up on the short end of the time stick. I can see many one-on-ones in my future with them.
Most of the people that knew me at college call me by my full name "Halloran" but people that I grew up with call me by my nickname, Halle. I lived a pretty insular life when I was at school, I didn't really have time for anything but school and work. I was around the art buildings more because I had studio classes there.
You could probably take more ibuprophen, or if you're able, switch to Aleve. It's done wonders for my knees & I've only had to take 2 a day.
Also, Sue (of Sue & Kelly) said that Tylenol Arthritis is the bomb - I'll bring you the bottle that didn't end up working for me to dance night - cause don'tcha know that Tylenol's NEVER worked for me. ;-)
LOL! I am on the max dose of ibuprofen, having gone there after some tummy issues with Aleve.
I completely agree with you on Tylenol! Smarties work better than Tylenol does.
Personally, I just think I may be hitting the stage where I need to make decisions on the arthritis issue, and I am just ducking it. I was diagnosed with it at 16, the first time I had mono, and being heavy most of my life has not helped matters much.
Wait'll I tell Dr. H my route. He will probably give me that "all right" and cheesy grin!
Good luck with all of that walking....to help with the 100lb goal buy a pair of Jolie's shoe weights. They are 1lb each and you tie them on your shoes. They are suppose to increase your calorie burn by 15%. I've got a pair on my walking shoes and I love them. I think they are at least worth looking into if you've got to do all that walking anyway. :)
It was marvelous seeing you last week. And thanks again for letting me stay the night on Friday! :)
