Yep, there sure are. And I have set aside for the great grand kids already from that. There are still at least 100 pairs AFTER the sort. I am totally amazed at the number of earrings she had.

I even took some of the charms off her smaller neckaces (Granny had a TINY neck!) for my charm bracelet. My best guess is that I have over 250 pieces of her jewelry right now, after the culling for me and family. It took me over four hours.

Had to do it, though. Needed the shelf space for some storage/Pennsic tubbies. I did not want to leave her things in cardboard forever.

I totally understand the massive amount of jewelry thing with Grannie. My dad's mom was like that. After she passed away I boxed up all of her jewelry and we finally went through it 2 Christmas past. It was so funny watching the four granddaughters go through it all. I've got a ton of her stuff now and there was still stuff that we left at PawPaws. Its amazing how things accumulate. I love having her jewelry to wear though. :)

You know you can convert the clip earrings to pierced or even to pendants or broaches if there's something you like.

I'm thinking of that lovely necklance in the Cleveland Museum of Art that is a 16th(?) century necklace made up of 14th and 15th century broaches linked together with pearls. (see? It's historically accurate even! heh.)

I stand corrected; I had to look it up, heh. The necklace is 15th century broaches and it doesn't say when they were joined into a necklace:

(sorry about the big wonkin' URL, still, it's pretty cool, huh?)
