I believe Mirror Lake is very near Crysal Lake where my sister and her husband were struck and killed by lighning in one of those freak storms. I'm glad you were safe.
I didn't know we were in the same area as your sister. I remember that being all over the news, and the behind the scenes drama you related to us.
We were very careful to get off the lake and back to camp any time it threatened to storm. I was very glad we had a trailer to hide out in, the other family only had their tent.
Yeah, it's a beautiful area up there. They were up there fishing and enjoying the afternoon. Storm came out of nowhere. I'm really glad you guys had a trailer.
I thought about that actually. I hadn't realized it was so close, but I'm sure your sister's situation made me all the more watchful and quick to send the kids inside. Those storms really do come up fast out of a nothing sky.
