Ah, in the first half of the nineties (possibly later, but that's when I stopped going) roller rinks in the midwest continued to rent out skates like that, but a tawny brown color with orange laces (too hideous to steal). Rollerblades seemed so much more difficult; now I'm not sure I could even skate. But you've made me want to try.

You've also made me miss Sonic, even though they have precious little vegetarian food.

Never went to Sonic. They have waitresses on rollerskates? Now I want to go.
