I am back in Philadelphia, just in time to catch this latest snowstorm. Which, happily, isn't as dire as predicted.

When it's not totally road-clogging, snow makes me happy. Night snow especially is magical--so beautiful and quiet and whispery.

What was weird though was that while I was walking about taking the photos, some woman's voice from one of the tow houses in front of me kept shouting "no pictures!" I thought maybe she wanted no photos of her house, so I turned away and started taking photos of the rest of the street, but she still kept yelling "I said no pictures please!" It was very odd, especially since I couldn't see her and she didn't answer me when I asked her why.

The country is amazing in winter.

I am so jealous of all the snow everyone else has been getting because around here it's been, oh, maybe two inches so far. I know I've just gotten totally spoiled by last winter's trifecta of massive snow events, but still. :(

I felt a lot less happy about it when I had to try and dig my car out today and was worried for a while I would not be able to. :/
