Hurricane proved personally disappointing. Rain, yes, but not all that much wind, and not even any power outage. Stocked up on water and candles for nothing. We had wanted to have a candle lit slumber party--instead we just drank a lot of wine and watched "I Love You Phillip Morris" and went to bed after nothing happened

Passersby were ogling the nearby wooded cliff's single downed tree and even taking pictures of it, like BEHOLD NATURE'S MIGHTY WRATH

I went for a walk around the neighborhood this evening and came by this:

I will admit, I had heard there was a tree down on that street (and that it fell over a car) and I went there specifically to survey the damage, but I hadn't expected the car to still be there. But of course it's not like the owner could just move it.

The tree took up a lot more space than I expected, too. It was a huge leafy mass blocking the entire street, its crown resting on yet another car.

Made me feel bad for destruction-gazing. I mean, whoever's car that is... fuck.
