Now they are away and admittedly I don't know what to think about the visit of Ice and Kati. After Rene's visit last week it occurred to me, how out I am of my former hometown. I don't want to go back there and that I will stay there most of the summer simply relates to the lack of another place to stay in Germany. Now I'm still or even more ( Read more... )

it's quite normal to not want to go back to a former life, as you put it - you've changed, and life in Kotbus has also moved on. though it could also be good to catch up - you never know, you may be better friends with your old friends than you thought! remember the Russian saying! ;)

as for leading an ordinary life - I think many people have that paradox (well, I certainly do, so I hope so!): on the one hand, you want to just settle down and, well, 'lead an ordinary life' (can't really think of phrasing it any better!); but on the other, you're afraid of it becoming terribly terribly boring. Perhaps?

You perfectly understand my problem. I feel, we have to meet at some point drink tea and talk about this in depth, for the sake of my bad concsience in both cases..

What do you say about a decent Easter Saturday Tea Afternoon? My relatives will be in Leiden only till early afternoon, so we should have time afterwards (and I could gossip about all my social activities, as well(
