Need info on the Metairie and Violet parts of Louisana

Does anyone know how bad the Violet and Metairie areas got hit ?
I have close friends in the areas, any info would be great.

When the levee broke, a lot of metarie was flooded.

I heard that Violet was very badly flooded and that one of our friends was on his rooftop with no food in Chalmette by Palmisano. He had to go out in his boat in search for food and tried heading through Violet to his parents house, but couldn't get through. I'll let you know if we hear anything else. I also heard that the rescues had to be suspended because people were trying to shoot down the helicopters from somewhere in the parish.

I'm hoping for anything to improve.

Hopefully your friends were able to evacuate.

thankfully the my friend that lived in Violet got out on Saturday and is ok.
