If you are a tech in networking/wireless communications by trade, New Orleans desperately needs your help to set up a comm. grid to coordinate law enforcement officials, missing persons, and aid workers.

My friend Jessica Luc and her family didn't leave she has younger silbings im not sure if shes alive i have not heard from her i am deeply worried beyond belief her family did not leave the city.

I'm am *so* sorry, but I really can't be of much help to you beyond telling you that FEMA and the FCC are working on creating a communications net that will digitize and centralize the names of all those in shelters, but it's going to take time.

The thing that I posted here was from a tech friend of mine who received it as a call out to anyone with experience in networking to come out and build the network. Personally, I don't have that kind of background, but I do have a net connection and agreed to SPAM the hell out of this plea.

I'd recommend signing up at the lists at NOLA.com and MSNBC.

You should post your request on any and all "roll call" sites you can find, like katrinafinder.us and cnn.com.

The Red Cross has set up a registry you can access and contribute to by Web or telephone. Visit redcross.org or call 1-877-LOVED-1S.
