RA said in interviews that there was a deleted scene in Season 1 that referred to Robin and Guy having known each other as children. Bet the producers are kicking themselves for deleting it now ( ... )

But this is where it get's confusing. The entail in P&P is passed from male to male. I cannot imagine that Sir Malcom, considering the the time he was living in, was like "Ok here's this living, but if you die your family is screwed even if you have a son and heir." It just doesn't make sense. Cause the reason he was negotiating with Gislean was that he and her were getting married and once that happened her husbands lands would go back to him (Malcolm) as he would then be her husband. Since since he already had a son, (Robin) there was a likelihood that Guy wouldn't get anything because he wasn't Malcolm blood son, merely his step-son. That was why Gislean was like "The lands have to go to Guy."
This show is like a train wreck but i can't stop watching, lol. Bring on episode 12 baby!!!
