oooh! I'm overjoyed that you updated! I just love this story. As others have pointed out, the four contingencies idea is just great. I get a good sense of how Marian's behavior directly affects him.

I also love this exchange:

“What do you want, gratitude? I never asked for your protection.”

“I am very much aware of it but, when you care for someone, you don’t wait for them to ask for help before giving it. You give it because you want the best for them always. I gave it because I cared for you.”

I get what's going on in Guy's head. It's believable.

I am anxious to see how this will unfold and in what way Marian is going to come to understand her feelings for Guy and how that conversation is going to go between she and Guy.

I love how this story has angst plus development of the characters. Keep it coming!

Oh,these characters are so believable! Seldom do I say the next few words about a fic (yeah, I know I sound like a snot): I can hardly wait for what you have next. But I mean it. I really enjoy your writing. All the brouhaha about the first chapter aside, you have a fine touch with your writing. It's not self-aware, so that I feel like I'm being provoked to respond. Thanks.

I just wanted to add that I have also been looking forward to you updating this story and to see where you are taking it!

I think it is especially interesting that Marian, despite her dismay and dislike of Guy is still subconsciously showing small gestures of affection like subtly upgrading his wardrobe. :)

Will he notice her gestures or will she continue to wear him down??

out of various stories i've read about guy and marian, i think you're one of the best authors. i love how you keep the characters true to their qualities instead of twisting them (like marian blindly falling for gisborne thinking he is faultless)
