Looking forward to your recap!

I'm totally mixed. I didn't hate it but I've enjoyed other finales more. (See below...)

Im not sure how I really feel about it. On the one hand the Bobby situation was just...????? but atleast Dick was destroyed. Crowley, my fav demon, will no doubt make more appearances in the next season which I view as a good thing. I suppose my main issue was the ending.I mean really, Castiel just leaves Dean. WTF

Okay, thank you - what they did about the audience not seeing Bobby burn was WEIRD and off-putting. I'm sure there's a bigger reason for it but watching the boys watch him just... no. Plus, no one ever says I LOVE YOU, MAN when one of 'em's dying. Ever. That bothers me about many shows, not just this one. Because watch somebody die in real life and try not to tell them you love them a gazillion times, just try. Or maybe that's me. But when I don't see that on-screen, the moment feels fake to me. When someone's swan-songing into the afterlife, I want them to know they're loved, period.

Ahem. Sorry for that tangent.

Yes, the purgatory arc of course had to happen and I know Cas disappeared for a reason to be determined later but it just left me unsatisfied having Dean left like that.

If there is another reason for that scene then I can't wait to learn what it is.

So I know that following are completely different but I kinda want to say it anyway.

For me, the most realistic death as far as one involving death hounds, etc. was that of Jo and her mom Ellen. I mean we the viewers got to see the fleeting, emotional moments of these characters and it was still touching. With that said I by no means want to be-little those characters but story-wise Bobby was way more important. I just think that if this was to be his final scene it could have been more. I know they did this when he was initially shot and pre-ghosty but they should have done it again. The way it ended it was like he was just another ghost they were getting rid of.

Oohhh, yes, the death scene with Ellen and Jo was amazing - it still breaks my heart that Ellen had to watch her own baby die first and she went to her death still fighting even though she knew she'd lost her girl, that there was no other way out. It was so well done.

I totally agree with you about Bobby, btw. It was just as you said, like he was another ghost he was so much more than that.

Now that I think about it, the other death that bothered me was their resurrected Grandpa Sam. I felt like that one fell kind of flat, like it was as a result of a succession of occurrences and he could've been anybody. They didn't have to be emotional or grieving over it, but I just didn't feel as though it was staged with the importance that it should've been.
