Yo summer, where'd you fly to?

School for the bigger boy starts in 15 days - wowie.  And school for the little fella starts the day after Labor Day, twice a week.  Have I mentioned here that 3 year old boys are an absolute bear in regards to the bathroom?  If he can get it together, I won't see him twice a week from 8:45-11:45.  I have a feeling I should be sad about this but he ( Read more... )

Good to see you, too! Of course, I intended to post all summer. Didn't quite work out that way.

Yeah, I caught my left 4th toe on the wheel of the ottoman. This toe has been broken before so it was a quick snap. I was able to pop it back into place after it dislocated, which I couldn't do on my own the last time. Since it happened at night and Big Daddy had to stay home with the kiddos, my friend took me to the hospital so we talked in the ER and the attending nurse was a mom I had known from years ago. So it ended up being kind of fun, LOL.

We got a last-minute invite to visit my friend's beach house, which is in Kure Beach so we were on that stretch of beach, then went to Wilmington and the aquarium and the train museum. It was a fun trip!

Yes, he's already in Kindergarten this year! He's going to a small, private K5 and not the big school near our house or else I think I would feel more thrown. He did K4 at the small school last year and loved it, and I like that he's going to get some solid 1on1 attention for his handwriting skills and his maturity level. He's my artist engineer, with his head in the clouds and always thinking about the next project!

"nods"

The High School band started firing up just last week so it's getting to be that time again.

Yeah for the size 10 but boo! for the broken toe.

It absolutely flew by and I feel like we kinda missed out on June because we had a lot of rain.

Thanks - luckily the size 10 will be around longer than the broken toe ;)

UGH FOR REAL. We have to get Puplet potty-trained for his preschool and it's been very slow going. We're gonna try again in two weekends. Sigh.

Good to see you pop up. :)

And this was the boy who started going on the potty when he was about a year old. WTF?

Good luck with the puplet, too. M&Ms apparently work wonders ;)

Thanks! It's good to be popping!

School? The twinkle in your eye is now in school???? Gah! But I know the feeling of needing alone time. Have never quite understood people who cry when their youngest goes off to school. I want to say "Clearly you did not have enough children!" ;) Enjoy your free time. You've earned it. :)

Ah yes, Mr. Twinkle is now a proud kindergartener and lost TWO TEETH this summer! Miraculously, the permanent teeth were right there waiting to break through and now, you can't even tell that he lost one of them, never mind two.

Haha, thank you and right there with you about not crying over growing children. I think every stage is a gift and I find I am not mourning so much the littlest stages as springing up happy and proud tears at how marvelously they are moving forward.
