Hey, stranger! It's great to see you posting, and after reading this it's also great to see that you and your family survived the last three years. Have you checked to make sure that you're not living over a Hellmouth?
HI hI HI! I have so much to catch up on! I'm looking forward to going through everyone's posts. I hope you're well and that your 3 years has been in no way as monumental. Thanks so much for your good thoughts, I'm very glad nothing went worse.
HAAA! I'm not convinced I'm not on a HellMouth, actually. I'm deep in MAGA country and the dude kinda reminds me of the Mayor.
Damn, that was a roller coaster of 3 years there. Glad you came out on the end with a few positive things. Just...yikes! Sounds like everyone has healed up now though?
We had a tree fall on the back side of our house almost a year ago and while our insurance was awesome (USAA) it took forever to get the work completed because there were people with bigger disasters to deal with and most companies were booked up for months. But we also now have all new siding and it looks like a brand new house.
Thank you! Yes, we're all good and knitted back together. With two boys, though, I expected broken things. The kiddo's break and surgery wasn't terribly traumatic and his surgeon was a former National Championship Nittany Lion (kiddo 2 is a HUGE football geek - the entire sport is his fandom) who was an amazing doc. Truly alls well that ends well.
I totally understand where you're coming from about the delays! Not only did insurance drag their feet, but, yes, so many people around us had much worse damage than we did. Our window company actually ran out of windows because so many people wanted them from the same supplier and forced them into backorder! We probably could've claimed our cars as well but just couldn't deal with any more.
Good lord! *choke* That's a lot! I didn't even know gall bladder surgery could go sideways, and I'm so sorry it happened to you.
Great news about the house finally being better. No so great about 45 still lingering like a mold infestation.
Fandom, hurrah! I'm glad you're posting to AO3, which is our best bet for not losing things. It's even better that you're writing again! My voracious appetite for fic doesn't appear to be waning at all.
Aww, thank you! It wasn't fun. And I blame the gall bladder surgery because all my digestion stuff went wonky, I seemed to lose the ability to metabolize fat, gained a ton of my lost weight back, but it very well could be my age (crowding in on 49 now) and the start of pre-menopause, too. But I feel so much better now even though I'm older so I'm still blaming the removal of that tiny, insignificant organ in my body.
So many writers I loved have packed up and gone and taken their fic with them, which makes me a wee bit sad. I seem to be the only one continuing to write Spike and Fred and have no idea if there's even an interest, but I've never stopped loving them. I really try to write ensemble pieces that sound how I'd love a real episode to be.
If you have recs, please share! Or point me to where they live ;)
Lady! Hey, lady!! What a joy it is to see you around here. I myself am too freaked out to post because it's been so long and so much life stuff has happened that it's hard to know where to start. You set a good example haha.
That's super crazy regarding everything that happened to your husband (and everything else too, but especially him). As a character from Outlander is fond of saying - Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ! Life can turn on a dime, as we all know in theory but it's still quite a fricking shock when it happens to us personally. I'm so glad that all your scary stories had a relatively happy ending. I demand nothing less.
Girlie, I miss you! How are you?! Please jump in with both feet and share whatever feels right. It is okay! I would love to hear all about the kittens and how amazing and talented and wonderful they are, and how beautiful you is doing.
He is the healthiest person I know, much more so than me, so it took a lot out of him mentally/emotionally/psychically as well as physically. He is definitely mellowing in his old age because, well, life is TOO SHORT!
Things could've been worse and I'm glad they weren't. MWAHAHA! Smooch! Please update on your life soonish.

I'm sorry to hear about all the things that happened to your husband, but I'm glad he's on the mend.
