Wanting life to slow the fuck down

I've been too busy with stuff to update lately. Last week-end I went with Kelly (and Dobber 'n' Shirtninja) to the invasion of Phoenix Tears (by Tal dagore or whatever, I'll look that up later) down in Springfield- which I need to remember to get ahold of Mira and Kelly, because I'm missing a pair of socks and a swimsuit top

Kat: Instead of buying her a bunch of stuff now - set her up a trust fund in Bill's name. If he's her bio dad that's completely legal. You just keep putting money into it and she gets access to it when she turns 18 - for college, or moving out or whatever.

Legally you don't have to tell the mum (nor does Chelsea have to tell her) that you've set it up - and she can't get access to it anyways, legal guardian or not as long as you make it out to Bill in trust for Chelsea.

I think you have an option about when the money becomes legally hers - 18, 19 or 21... not entirely sure on how the age thing works in the states.

You could always do that and tell Chelsea about it instead of buying her a bunch of stuff that will likely get taken back or whatever.

and I know in Canada - if you can prove the child is not receiving sufficient benefits compared to the amount of support paid, or prove the mom is unfit... OR if you can prove that she is trying to turn Chelsea against Bill (badmouthing him in front of her or whatever) you can take custody from the mom.

There's already been cases through the courts where the mom lost custody for badmouthing the dad. Especially since Chelsea is 12 now, the judge may take her statements into consideration.
