Ever read The Poisonwood Bible? Antlions appear there. I didn't know they were really called that until just now, though - I thought it was a name made up by the five-year-old narrator.

we used to dig these up, when i lived in florida. they're so alien-looking. then you set them free and they go dig another hole.
