Live alone! It's so freeing. That's so not a word. I don't know. Whoop to ranting but yay you got awesome pressies. Fuck the younger shitheads - you were looking out for your friends! If they had any - they would understand. As they didn't understand...well..fact of the matter is YOU kick ass! :D (Yes. I'm pissed!)

This! Living in your own place is amazing. <3 Due to financial reasons, we were almost faced with having to downgrade to a flatshare, even though we knew we'd go mad. We're just thankful that I managed to get a new job in time so that not only did we not have to go into a flat share, but this time next week, we'll be upgraded to a lovely little place just a stroll away from the Sea. <3

I totally agree with you about the parties, these days I'd rather meet friends over a coffee or just a couple of drinks in a quiet bar, or even just around to your own place to just sit back and relax.

You don't need to get your own place, just houseshare with an older group!

I was away the weekend that my housemates held a leaving party for one of their friends (their friend only had a studio flat). They checked the dates with me weeks in advance. I came back the following day to find the flat was completely tidy, save for some ace decorations of 'around the world' themes, including a giant passport and a blow up palm tree in the lounge. They'd even recycled all the glass and cans :o)
