Episode Title: Space Ururun Homestay
Source of subs: HorribleSubs

What happened in the episode:
Katsura and Sakamoto have a reunion scene.

Shinpachi has an objection: ‘This is wrong! Is this how cavemen used to greet each other? Are you really friends?!’ XDD
Everyone boards Sakamoto’s ship.

And witness horrible events that unfold on Earth.

Although attempts to count the many Elizabeths put Katsura and Kagura to sleep while Mutsu and Sakamoto explain the situation.

Turns out it was all Sakamoto’s fault for being an optimistic idiot.

So now they are the only ones who can stop the Renho invasion by infiltrating their mothership. It must have been fate! [heroic flashback ensues]

No infiltration could happen without a proper disguise.

Katsura is somewhat overwhelmed by the magnitude of the mothership, and almost falls asleep again.

Katsurabeth! XD

Katsura-san gives good advice how to cope with motion sickness: “I told you to open a window and look far away when you get sick. And take deep breaths.” Nice, Katsura! It probably works especially well on submarines and in space.

A humorous moment about Shinpachi’s disguise malfunction is interrupted by an appearance of a guard with a Hitler moustache.

Fortunately, everyone’s quick thinking saves the day. Sort of.

Infiltration continues, they join a banquet. Only the food is somewhat odd...

Our heroes will not stand for that!

Their actions are seen as mutiny, and once again it’s three of them against the world.

But who do you think comes to the rescue?!

Meanwhile, Mutsu discovers the superweapon of Renho.

The next episode is bound to be epic!

Thoughts about Katsura:

1. I really was somewhat disappointed at the meeting of Katsura-san and Sakamoto at first. I expected something more of a touching reunion that will reveal the depths of their personalities and the strength of their relationship bonds. But they were just like 'Oh hai Sakamoto!' - 'Oh hai Zura!'.

But then I thought about it some more and came to the conclusion that exactly this situation revealed more about them than a touching reunion would - this kind of meeting is really in the spirit of Gintama and in the spirit of samurai. They are not going to fuss about it and ask superfluous questions like 'how have you been?' or 'where have you been?'. They see that the other person is alive and that is really all what matters to a samurai. And they are always together spiritually, so they will not behave like they had not seen each other for ages.

Another indication of that is how Katsura remembers about Sakamoto’s motion sickness and actually gives him advice on how to deal with it, it must have been at the back of his mind somehow.

2.Talking about together spiritually, where is Takasugi in Sakamoto's flashback? Or was it a special flashback that is meant to show only the togetherness of Katsura, Gintoki and Sakamoto? Or maybe it is symbolic because Katsura liked Takasugi less than the other tow guys? Or maybe it was simply because Takasugi did not fit in the story this time? XD

I would not be surprised if Takasugi was not included because Katsura and he don’t really get along - this episode clearly shows that Katsura has much more in common with Gin-san and Sakamoto. Especially the latter, Sakamoto’s optimism and attitude really make me think they are on the same wave length with Katsura. That’s the wave length of Radio Crazy, though XD

3. Surprising turn of events - Katsura tried to look up Mutsu's skirt! But she wears trousers, so his plan failed. Wtf was that all about, since when has Katsura-san been a pervert? Could it be that what he witnessed in the previous episode broke his brain O_O Lol, or maybe it is all much simpler, he just happened to be on the ground and it was not like he was trying to do something inappropriate. Yes, I will believe this hypothesis because Katsura-san is the epitome of morality and purity and he never would!

4. Uno makes a comeback in this episode! Fun fact - I bought me Uno cards because Katsura claimed he is good at Uno back in the prison episode XD And apparently he really is good, after all, he had the 'Draw Four' card. So he was not just bragging, he is good at Uno. That is just one of his epic skills :D

5. I wonder why he requested to change that game cartridge he got with the rice - there must be some deep significance to that fact, but the significance completely eludes me because I'm not a gamer and I never really played games, so for me all those things are pretty much the same... Any ideas about that?

6. Katsura still sleeps with his eyes open like in the prison episode. As expected from the animators, they would not forget such a significant detail. I wonder if it means that he is always on guard XD

erizabesuuuu!, arc: renho, zurazabeth, anime: 233
