Gintama 237 / Gintama’ 36
Episode title: Please Take Me Skiing

What happened in this episode:
The Shinsengumi accompany the Shogun to a ski resort. Unfortunately there is also the Yorozuya, and the things get ugly very soon.
And then there is Katsura in a giant snowball, together with Kagura and Okita. Their evil aura turns the snowball black, but Katsura-san makes it nice and shiny again.
And apparently his p3n1le brake suffers some damage while attempting to stop the snowball >_< In the commotion the shogun goes missing and everyone is stranded in the freezing snow in the middle of a forest with no means to contact outside world.
And poor Katsura-san has turned into a snowman, although he is still able to give sensible suggestions.
Katsura: “In that case we should split up into a group for ensuring our survival and a group to search for the Shogun. Yes, there’s no need to worry. The Shogun may be our reviled enemy, but there is no point in bringing that up now.
I’m just an ordinary leader now! Feel free to dive into my arms!”
Too bad everyone is ignoring Katsura’s sensible suggestions and pleas for help.
Although Hijikata steals his idea about splitting into 2 groups, so he was listening after all. Katsura calls him a copycat.
Kondo has to go look for the Shogun, and the kind-hearted Katsura offers him something to keep warm. A gif would so fit here XD
Katsura: “Wear this. As I was saying, we need to work together to survive.”
Kondo cannot appreciate the kindness and pushes Katsura to roll off a cliff.
What a cliff-hanger of an episode, indeed!
Thoughts about this madness:
Remember the episode with text messages when I said Katsura must be some sort of a saint? Well, in this episode even more so - the shining light of his soul completely erased the darkness of the combined Kagura and Okita’s dark aura. Katsura-san’s pure heart is so pure it outshines those two underage villains XD
But what was he doing at the ski resort in the first place? Did Gin-san take him? That’s very sweet of Gin-san, that is really something a true friend would do! Or did Katsura just follow there by himself? I guess that is also something a friend would do, but it is less sweet, more obnoxious.
And did you notice that Katsura was the first to come up with any sort of sensible plan? That’s the brains of Joi operations for you, even in a situation like this he does not lose his cool and can organise people properly.
And at the same time, Katsura is really kind - he actually wants to set aside his differences to help the Shogun and the Shinsenguni (Kondo in particular). Well, his idea of help is somewhat different from other people’s, so his good intentions don’t go over that well, but still, it is the thought that counts most!
Oh, and Katsura offered everyone to dive into his arms! Do I have to get in line for that, do we buy tickets, or what?
