Cars 2! And other junk.

So I've been without internet for the last 3 days, because Verizon evidently hires complete idiots as installers(And they weren't even installing for us!).

But I finally saw CARS 2.

I wasn't sure about it, because it seemed like it was CARS meets James Bond, which it pretty much was. But I liked it. It was great to see everybody back from the first movie. One of the Verizon tech support guys said he read somewhere that it was political. I didn't get a political feel from it. The only thing it really deals with is alternative fuels, and the oil company not being happy. There's a few car deaths(One was compacted, literally. The other was made to blow up).

I have two main faults with it though:

Doc Hudson: I knew going in that he wouldn't be there, retired and all since his VA died. But they gave no reason at all why he wasn't there. I got the implication, though, that he died. A while ago too, or at least long enough that everybody in town had gotten over it and moved on. For such a beloved and important character in the first movie, he probably barely got 2 minutes in this movie(They showed a museum dedicated to him), and one mentioning.

I also didn't like that between movie 1 and 2, evidently McQueen and Mater went from best buddies, to McQueen seeing Mater as an annoying bug that never left, and was there just to embarrass him. He evidently never invited him to his races over the years, barely wanted to be associated with him, or have people know Mater was with him. This goes on for a good half of the movie.

Despite this, over all? It's a good movie, a little Mater centric though. There's action, racing, explosions. Plenty to see, and plenty entertaining.
