oh, Nelly Furtado. What happened to the sassy, genuine chick on Whoa! Nelly (with the exception of Fly Like A Bird)? "Promiscuous" sounds like a million other songs. It is just a bad song and the video was disappointing and yucky

I know! I heard an interview with her in which I'm sure she claimed to be making a point with these songs (about body image, I guess) ... but such subtle irony is surely lost on the audience?! Which may be the point.

hmmm. it seems a bit like the Jewel situation in 2003, then... remember when she came out with 0304, I think it was called, and she claimed the first video was making fun of female pop stars but everyone was pretty dubious and there was a huge backlash.

it's the record companies, these days! pressuring artists in a direction that compromises their individual vision to make more money then masquerading it as irony! UGH! *turns up nose*

Oh Lord - I thought the EXACT same thing about Nelly Furtado. It's like listening to Fergie and thinking, "You can do so much better! Get a new lyricist!"
