I'm going to link some of my favorite (possibly less-known) stuff that helped spruced up my game!
What skin do I use?

phoenix_phaerie's Manor House Collection: Humongous set of lovely high class furniture from kitchen, bathrooms, gardens, etc. Love it!!

Moune999's Torrox Spanish/Southwestern Build Set: This gigantic 10-part set is amazing. I really love the wall cut outs, the amount of deco slots, and the overall style. I use this set quite often.

Windkeeper's Fence Collection 1 & 2: I use these alot. Matches EA's mesh enough where it looks like it was suppose to be part of the game!

Downloadable Sims 1,Busting Out,Sim City, etc Soundtracks to add to your Sim radios! Site also contains a lot of other game soundtracks. (Too bad its missing Sims 1 EP's soundtrack!)

Empty Group Cache File: I use to have to delete my Groups Cache file everytime I download stuff or else the game won't start. This has saved me from ever doing that. Don't forget to make it a 'read only' as instructed.
