 Our boiler has broken - apparently something inside has melted. The plumbers informed us of this and then said reassuringly 'if someone hasn't come to fix it in a fortnight, then phone us again.'

Ominous. But at least it is July (by Scottish standards anyway).

In the meantime, we've been coming up with creative ways to clean and be clean. Happily,

Urgh, plumbers are the worst aren't they? We had to call them out when water was leaking from the bathroom into the downstairs bedroom and going into all the electricals. They just shrugged their shoulders and told me it was from me getting out the shower... Uh... The floor was bone dry and I always put something down when getting out. I doubt it would cause a cascade of water to plummet through the floor!

There's something about having to wash yourself that way that takes you back to childhood...
