School politics. School drama. Honestly, you shouldn't be able to get this emotionally distraught over a sports day.
I completely understand where you're coming from, and I think that you're 100% in the right, and yes, damn it, you *should* get that emotionally distraught because you've worked your ass off for the last 24hours to organise the bloody thing, and to get criticised by people who (a) don't know and (b) weren't there is horrible and wrong.
If they see problems with the event at past close of business, the day before the event is due to take place, they should keep their mouth shut and turn up on the day ready to pick up any slack/solve any problems/pass the tissues/buy the alcohol in the pub at the end of the day. End of.
