My PowerPoint for Monday is officially done and sent off for review, yay!

Last night my class was canceled and I knew I wasn't getting information from presentation group members until 9:00, which left me with several hours of absolutely nothing to do. So of course my first thought is sleep, but I instead decided to hop in my car and spend some time with yummy boyfriend person. I made it just in time for dinner and then we headed off to the Vinton Christmas Parade. Now mind you I have not been to a parade since I used to be in them for band in high school and I don't even think that counts as going to a parade since I didn't actually watch the parade. It was pretty cold and there were lots of children around, but other than that, it was a really fun time. There were a couple of high school bands and church groups and firemen (oh baby) and baton twirlers and loads of other groups. I decided that if I were ever to be in a parade again, I would want to be the girl sitting on the back of a convertible dressed up like a princess. I think I would make a good princess. Plus they get to wear really cool fur cape things. I would definitely wear one of those even if I wasn't in a parade.

My vacation at work technically starts Dec. 15, though I didn't realize when I was coming up with my schedule that it is actually going to be a pretty busy day for me. So I have been talking with my boss and trying to come up with a day that I could take instead. But I never really had a good day that made sense and would give me more of a day off than just time to sleep. Laying in bed this morning, with the alarm going off for the tenth time, it hit me. I'm going to take TODAY off. So I drag myself out of bed, shoot off an email to my boss, copying in everyone in my office as well as some friends, letting them know that I would be unavailable for comment for the day. Of course, that is a lie and I continue to write emails, set up meetings and give directions to my assistant. But by golly, at least it feels like a day off. I hope this is not a turning point in my love of work. I have been at my current job for six months and this is the first day that it has ever even occurred to me not to go. I'm usually the one who gets in trouble for working too many hours or coming in on my day off.

So now that I am released from work duties, I have to actually come up with something to do. Enter the best form of crack since I first discovered DDR. Karaoke Revolution. *angels sing* Now for the average person, this seems like a game that gives license to act completely retarded (nothing wrong with that) and make fun of all your tone deaf friends (nothing wrong with that either). But as a (former) singer, this game gives me the chance to just totally tear it up and gives me the confidence to know that there is at least one video game in the world that I don't suck at.

Once I was able to tear myself away from Karaoke, I promptly went back to sleep. (Hey, it is my day off after all) When I woke up, I managed to convince Buck to actually take a break from work and come have lunch with me. I had a grilled pimento and cheese sandwich. It was very good and I highly recommend it.

I didn't realize how much happened in the past 24 hours. It would seem I got a little carried away with my post here. Must cut...
