Yo assholes. Fucking vote and shit. In California alone, if the people who were living to see the long-term effects of legislation actually bloody well participated, we'd have different results in every election for the past 10+ years ( Read more... )

As I noted later, I was responding to a recent study revealing that if all the younger people who don't vote actually did vote, a lot of referenda might end up with opposite results to current reality.

As for candidates... There are few worth voting for -- often, it is the least of x evils... I wouldn't be surprised that the dearth of younger voters contributes to the shittiness of the candidate pool. :/

No, not right now -- just that there was a study released yesterday indicating that if all the people who aren't voting would vote, election results in California alone would be dramatically different -- they'd increase taxes to cover health programs, improve schools, etc. There'd probably a smaller portion of the votes going to fundy candidates and causes (I live in North County).

I do vote, and every time I go to the polls, I see my vote go down the shitter because the majority of the people who bother aren't planning to be here.
