Oh Katy, I was beside myself all yesterday leading up to the election results about prop 8. I called Kimberly in tears just apologizing to her on behalf of 8 supporters, even though no results were coming through yet. But when I was in the Castro with thousands of people, gay, straight, in drag, whatever, we all felt hope that if Obama can mention "gays and lesbians" in his acceptance speech, that all hope isn't lost quite yet. I love you, and my heart is incredibly sad. We have to remember to fight with kindness, and give love and compassion to those we demand love and compassion from - otherwise we're just caught in this vicious cycle. Only then will their closed, ignorant and unforgiving minds offer the will necessary to listen, to understand, and to accept this fundamental right due to all human kind. If then they remain unmoved, we'll make sure they don't breed. ;)

Love you.
