some real good chili

May 27, 2007 20:28

I made a big pot of chili tonight. It was very delicious. If you like to cook, or have kids who are interested in cooking at all, you might want to look at this cookbook.

It's called There's a Chef In My Soup! Recipes for the kid in everyone by Emeril Lagasse. I really don't care for Emeril's cooking show. He can be annoying. And most of his ( Read more... )

You're welcome. I love good chili, too. I've tried several recipes, and this has been the best.

Thanks for the recipe. Plain ole chili is one of my favorite dishes that I cannot make well; there is a deli near work and I usually get a cup once or twice each week. I will try your recipe next weekend.

This makes a very thick chili. If you don't like it that thick, you can cut back a bit on the meat. And you can cut back on the spices if you don't like it spicy. :)

I bet your husband would like this. Maybe he should learn how to cook so he can make it for himself. ;) This cookbook is simple enough for kids to use, so he should be able to figure it out.

Sounds good but I'll have to try to substitute soy meat. Sometimes that changes the taste. Take care

Yeah, I don't think this would be good without the ground beef. It's not really for folks who don't eat meat. I wonder what meatless chili would taste like.

how was the departed? i still haven't seen it.

i love chile and that sounds like what i make, but add about cup of mixed hot peppers for me. the hotter the better. i don't like beans, so i add just one can of the hot stuff. i'll have to try it with that bam stuff though. i made some kick-ass chili once and my niece and dad were sitting there eating it with their noses running asking me if there was any more. LOL!

i think it's pretty cool your son like to cook. i'm sure he'll make his future wife really happy! :)

The Departed was very good. It was very violent, one of those movies that's got great performances, but you feel down after watching it. DiCaprio does an excellent job.

I would put hot peppers in my chili if it was just me eating it. My husband and kids don't like really hot food. Yeah, I like chili that makes my eyes water.

My son was interested in cooking for a while, but he hasn't made anything lately.
