I don't know what to do

Feb 27, 2009 01:06

Over the last 6 weeks or so, my cat's health has deteriorated. It became obvious that he has gone completely deaf. Then, he started being picky about food, and lost a lot of weight. I made plans to take him to see the vet, but then I lost my job (they found out about my credit card theft misdemeanor) at the beginning of this month. ( this is long )

That last paragraph is a bunch of horseshit, Katy.

Kit is an old man. When any living creature gets old, it begins to shut down. Kit IS sick, but it's not your fault, it has nothing to do with anything you've done. This isn't about you, it's just that Kit is getting old. So get that guilty shit out of your head so you can think straight. Kit needs you.

Now that I have that out of the way, I want you to know that I truly understand and empathize with what you are going through right now.

Can you apply for a credit card?

I still think I could have prevented the sudden worsening of everything if I had acted sooner and if I hadn't taken him to that insane and scary clinic instead of a regular vet.... but I can't get approved for credit cards or loans of any type unfortunately, my credit score is really that bad.

Have you spoken to the doctors office about payment options for situations like this?

I wonder if he has a nerve problem. Keep us posted.

Cedric is slowly losing his vision. I must tell this to the vet next time we take him in. He already saw poorly, but at this point it's super super bad, especially close up. I think it's worse close up than far away in fact. Poor old buddy.

The universe isn't punishing you or Kitz. I don't believe the universe has any consciousness at all or cares what the shit we do. Simply, Kitz is old. It sux that their lifespans are so short compared to ours. I hope the vet can address the problem and get him back on the level.

It's jsut that this all happened so suddenly. If I'd followed the life path I meant to and not failed and whatnot so many times I could have kept up with his preventative care, taking him to the vet twice a year, and so on. We might have tackled the not eating problem before it led to the liver problem.

I went ahead and took him to the vet today and checked him in for the weekend. When I got home, I took a shower and came home to the boyfriend sitting menacingly in a chair of mine in my room. Yelling at me about how I should buck up and grow up and that checking the cat in was selfish. Last thing I need right now.

How is it selfish? It's like checking a patient into the hospital when that is the kind of care they need. What you've said about the BF so far leaves me very unimpressed with this man!

YELLING f'reals? Tell him the mean old Sicilian bitch will track him down and teach him some mother fucking manners.

You DID the grown up and responsible thing by checking the cat in. Selfish would have been saying "I refuse to deal with this and I will just let him pass away." I am sure everyone will back me up on this!
