so tonight was fun, until like 20 minutes ago. i got into a big stupid fight with my dad about the dumbest things. i think he likes to pick fights with me. seriously. it makes me more and more anxious to leave

kate we will be fine in college, i promise. you can always drive up to tech whenever you want. i don't have any classes on friday, and i'm done at 1:30 on thursday, so i have a 3 1/2 day weekend, so i might be able to come visit you on some weekends. but have no fear, we have phones, and emails, and this journal, and regular snail mail, and many many other ways to stay in contact. and it's not like we won't ever see each other again, so all will be good, i promise. anyway, i have to go, my parents are waiting outside the library, and i don't want to keep them waiting any longer. we are leaving today, yay!! i'm ready to come home. tech is nice and all, but not when you have two parents tagging along behind you treating you like you're five years old again. oh well, only a couple more months then i'll be parent free and be able to enjoy tech like i'm supposed to. when i get home i'll have to show you the pictures of my roommate. she's really nice, i met her yesterday afternoon, and by last night everyone had been asking us if we had

yeah, and i also have to maintain a 3.4 GPA. ack. i looked at mary hardin-baylor a little bit, i'm going to tarleton state in stephenville. hick country, lol.
haha. awesome. im sure that belton is not much better as far as the hicks go. good luck with your schedule next year. i saw it and it looks super hard.

Hiya Kate, it's Katie Dixon. Just read your recent entry and was shocked at your statement of wanting to take 19 hours. To be quite honest, I think it would be virtually impossible for anyone with a social life, not to mention your soccer commitments and what not. Personally, I would try to maintain 13-16 hours a semester, preferably having the semesters add to 30 when done. Don't forget that you can always take summer school to add some hours, no need to try and cram everything in at once.
Just my $0.02, been there, done that, seen it end in failed classes and lots of stress.

thanks dick. i have thought about summer school and am not too excited about it. i plan to be away all summer working at camps in different cities. i will see how 13 go fall semester and make my call based on that. i dont think soccer will be as big of a commitment in the spring because it will be all off season things. but we'll see. i have my first semester to deal with first. thanks for your advice though and i will def. keep it in mind.
hey Kate!! I am so jealous of your schedule!!! Sometimes I REALLY wish I had gone to a Christian university so that I could have taken Old Testament and the like. And you sound so responsible- good idea about taking 13 hours your first semester :)
