Separation of Church and State

The saga continues.

I met today with the principal of Cody's school.  First we discussed some issues I've been having with Cody and homework and he agreed that it is possible that Cody is getting too much homework because he is unique in that he has four different teachers.  These teachers may not be coordinating in such a manner as to avoid ( Read more... )

Kent - that's not very constructive feedback. I know this has the potential to be a long road - I've already stated in previous posts that I'm willing to take this as far as I have to. Anyone who knows me realizes that next to the word tenacious in the dictionary is my picture. If that's what happens then so be it - to court we will go. However, I'd like to give these folks the benefit of the doubt - so far, though they aren't thrilled I brought up the issue the whole system has been very civil and willing to help. Even if we end up in a law suit - at least we're all being civil about the whole matter.

You should ask the principle how many 5th graders there are.
Then you should contact a local Muslim temple and ask them if they would like the opportunity to pass out the Qur’an to all the 5th graders.
Be sure to let the principle know the date and time they will be coming to the school.

I discussed that with the Assistant director of schools. I mentioned that they open themselves up to allow every religion in there with their texts for distribution to the children. He agreed. I told him if it didn't cease and an apology wasn't made that I would ensure that very thing occurred.

I wish you luck with this. If you decide to hand out something I checked into the pamphlet "The truth about witchcraft today" for a mass handout a while back and you can get a bunch of them pretty resonably. That would prove the point of what happens if other religions tried something like this. I will even go hand them out with you...hehe This could get fun! :-)
