What Happened when I read A Tale of Two Cities

(told in the third person)

Katie suddenly notices that the dry Charles Dicken's novel has picked up pace.  As she is two thirds of the way through the book,  it's about time.  Interesting, she thinks, I seem to actually like some of the characters in this book.  Who would have thought?  Oh Sydney, you ( Read more... )

So, how do you classify his death on the "Good Deaths for Katie's Favorite Characters Who Die" scale? Cause, you know, you have one of those...

I know. What is wrong with me. I would say it's a good character death, but one I never ever want to have to see repeated. Cause that is how the story has to end. That is the story. Madame Defarge would be an awesome villain with worthless heroes with out Sydney Carton's sacrifice. But it was so unbearable for me that I really really hope I never ever have to watch it happen to another character I love again.
