So I've realized that, while I'm unsure who's reading here, this is probably the place where I should work out fic stuff that I don't know yet if I'm ready to post on Ao3. Probably. So if there's any takers, I've got a weird little bit of fic below.

please consider finishing and posting this! it's not too jargon-y at all, in my opinion--the jargon makes it more realistic, and makes it feel like the reader is exactly what they are--an outsider looking at private papers.

i know very little about developmental psych but from what i do know i totally agree. i'm fascinated by their childhoods in this respect (and in the respect of poverty/hunger, which i feel isn't touched on nearly enough in most fic). i think that's part of why i loved this so much. so often i think people get wrapped up in the "supernatural" element when the psychological/traumatic/real-world horror aspects are so deeply-rooted and just as fascinating. and when the two combine, as they seem to be combining here, even better!
i would absolutely die of joy if you continued this into a full-fledged fic! and of course you know where to find me if you need a beta <33
