We woke up at 4AM this day to get tickets for a sold-out musical. Got there a little before 5 (second place in line) and waited five more hours to buy tickets since selling didn't begin until 10AM.
It's a big theater on the outside.
After we bought tickets, we stood around and watched the singers walk in. You can tell who the singers are because they're super skinny and dress well.
Also, the die-hard fans (yes, in matching jackets) respectfully crouch down every time they pass by, allowing the paparazzi us to take pictures. Oddly enough, most of the fans are middle-aged women (housewives, I'm guessing).
The musical didn't start until 1:30PM, so we grabbed some lunch from a nearby food court. Omuraisu (short for omelet rice) for lunch:
Inside resembles the SF symphony interior, but much smaller.
Did I mention we got FOURTH-ROW SEATS? And you're even closer because part of the stage goes around the orchestra into the audience. It was great.
Got back to the hotel around 5PM, went straight to dinner. This was a tempura place recommended by the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn't see the menu until we sat down, so we didn't realize it was $60/person, and that was the cheapest set course. Oops. It was very good though.
It was also the traditional seating (low table on the floor). Bad time to find out how inflexible you really are.
End of day 3.
